Each evening at our campsite you’ll meet like-minded people gathered around a campfire, share an authentic mountain meal on Arabian rugs, drink steaming hot karak or traditional Arabic coffee while listening to stories of old. You can explore the jagged peaks under the light of the moon or hike to the highest peak to watch a breathtaking sunrise cast long shadows over the mountains from the east. Upon returning to camp, feast on a hearty Emirati breakfast made by the local Bedouin mountain tribes.

Suitable for beginners, Camp 1770 offers day hikes for those interested in stepping into the wilderness and learning more about the natural world found at the highest elevation of the Hajar Mountain Range. Walk a mile in their shoes—gain appreciation for those who carry on age-old Emirati mountain dwelling traditions as you walk the well-trodden shepherds’ paths, experiencing the wealth of beauty at Jebel Jais and all of its surroundings.
