Built from repurposed shipping containers, each unit is simple, secure, and equipped with all the basics you’ll need for a no-fuss, restful stay. 

    A stay that balances the serenity of the mountains with the comfort of a well-appointed room. Each cabin at Bear Grylls Explorers Camp is designed to offer comfort- featuring a double and single bed with fresh linen, a small fridge, air-conditioning, and fully functional bathrooms. With space to accommodate up to three adults, our cabins provide the convenience of a hotel room on the inside, surrounded by the raw beauty and stillness of nature outside.

    The Bear Grylls Camp Ras Al Khaimah

    If you are an inspiring adventurer, enjoy pushing yourself and want to learn some tough survival techniques from Bear’s hand-picked instructors, the Ras Al Khaimah explorers camp has some exclusive challenges that will put you, your family or your team to the test.

    The camp’s goal is to equip you with Bear’s various survival techniques across the challenging terrains in the desert and mountainscapes of the UAE. The instructors can also design exclusive challenges for private groups. 

    Survival is about attitude. The Ras Al Khaimah camp is dynamic, high-intensity, and offers you an experience that you will never forget. It brings together the best primal and modern wilderness survival skills that have been handed down through generations of highly regarded British Forces. You'll learn some essential self-rescue techniques, and Bear's instructors will encourage you to embrace new experiences and push your boundaries.

    Bear Grylls and his hand-picked team of survival experts have painstakingly curated a collection of survival experiences in the towering Jebel Jais mountains in Ras Al Khaimah. The local team has developed various challenges using Bear’s tried and tested dynamic survival methods and techniques that have been televised worldwide, watched by billions and practised by few.

    Primal Survival Course

    For 24-hours, Bear's instructors will help you acquire some practical life-saving skills as you learn to survive inhospitable desert lands and mountain wildernesses. They will be your mentors and help you form positive attitudes such as resourcefulness and practising calmness under pressure. You will push yourself further than you ever thought possible.

    Overview

    This exciting 24-hour outdoor mountain adventure has been carefully curated by Bear Grylls and his hand-picked team of experts. On day one, parent-child teams are formed, and Bear’s instructors will teach you how to build a fire, navigate at night, purify water and build a shelter to keep you safe. You'll also learn extreme weather survival techniques and complete an abseil down a sheer cliff face to test your nerve. On day two, you'll put your skills to the test; ensure that you pay attention. You'll follow Bear's well-practised self-rescue skills and cross challenging terrain back to civilisation. The Primal Survival Family Adventure is an extraordinary way to bring your family together, have some fun and create some unforgettable memories. 

    What to bring

    The following items will give you maximum comfort in a wilderness environment. Note that all of the equipment you bring should be fitting for a survival challenge. Ensure that you bring appropriate clothing for the soaring desert temperatures in the summer and the sometimes cold nighttime elements in the winter. The items should be hardwearing. Any kit that you do not need can be stored securely at base camp.

    Primal Survival Family Adventure

    Bear has designed this family adventure to inspire fathers and sons, mothers and daughters and encourage communication and trust. The 24-hour adventure has been carefully curated by Bear and his hand-picked team of experts to bring the best out of a family.

    Overview

    The course begins as soon as you step into the ancient wilds of the Jebel Jais Mountains. With 70-million years of history surrounding you, your instructor will teach you how to identify various animal runs in the desert, lay traps, prepare your catch for dinner and forage for supplementary nutrients. You’ll acquire survival knife skills, wilderness first aid, fire lighting techniques and different rope skills like tying knots and making harnesses. All of these skills will culminate in you navigating tricky terrains such as steep cliffs, ridges and wadis. Bear's team will teach you how to build emergency shelters to protect you against inclement weather and shield you from attacks in the wild. The intense 24-hour survival experience is exciting, challenging and sometimes truly terrifying, but you will look back with a sense of achievement and overwhelming pride that you have overcome such seemingly insurmountable challenges and tasks.

    P for Protection

    Be aware of animal or human predators, extreme weather conditions and other threats.

    R for Rescue

    When lost, devise a plan for getting help, whether it's by setting a signal fire, leaving signs on the ground, or writing "SOS" that can be seen from the sky.

    W for Water

    Locating water within 24 hours is essential. Your survival without water is limited to three days.

    F for Fire and Food

    Building a fire provides warmth, protection and a way to cook food and boil water. While you can survive three weeks without eating, you'll have a much better chance of self-rescue with protein and energy.

    What to bring

    Welcome to the Bear Grylls Explorer Camp.

    The Bear Grylls Explorer Camp is in the heart of the United Arab Emirate’s Jebel Jais Mountains. Bear Grylls and his team will unleash your forgotten wild spirit as you uncover your hidden compass and natural survival skills. You'll be sharing 70-million years of history with nothing but nature around you, so please respect it. Be kind to your fellow campers and make the most of this extraordinary experience.

    Camping essentials

    Each camp cabin is basic but comfortable. You will find the following items in your survival box:

    • 3 x dinner plates
    • 3 x bowls
    • 3 x knives
    • 3 x forks
    • 3 x spoons
    • 3 x teaspoons
    • 3 x mugs
    • 3 x kitchen knives
    • 1 x chopping board
    • 1 x BBQ set containing a spatula, brush, knife, fork and tongs

    Please check off the items, place them back in the box, and return them to reception when you check out. There is a small utility room on site where you can wash the cutlery and crockery.
