While adrenaline and gorgeous mountain views might be the emirate’s top tourist attractions, the Ras Al Khaimah beaches are in a league of their own.

Whether you’re a water baby or simply love lounging on the shore and working on your tan, the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah stands out with its tranquil beaches and captivating shorelines.

Think secluded bays, mysterious coves, and the boisterous fun of beachside activities. Now multiply that by gorgeous views, and you may just begin to imagine sunrises and sunsets by the pristine shores.

Before we get to the public beaches in Ras Al Khaimah, it’s worth noting that there are plenty of beach resorts. If you head to Al Marjan Island, the archipelago is littered with luxurious resorts, each boasting its own strip of private beach.

From Rixos Bab Al Bahr to Sofitel Al Hamra Beach Resort, each property is plush with amenities and the promise of exclusive beach access.

However, the emirate’s public beaches are no less beautiful and a must on any traveller’s bucket list.

The best Ras Al Khaimah public beaches

Jazeera Al Hamra Public Beach

Take the Jazeera Al Hamra Public Beach, for instance. Located right by the Al Hamra Village community, it’s the perfect place to relax with loved ones. You’ll find just as many people playing volleyball by the water as you will picnics and couples on strolls. The beach is also close to the Waldorf Astoria, where watersport activities are plentiful. Definitely worth a visit!

Flamingo Beach

You might miss this beach thanks to the golden dunes all around, but Flamingo Beach in Ras Al Khaimah should definitely be on your list. There’s plenty to do here, starting with picking your spot in a long line of beach umbrellas to lounge under. You can swim at the beach of course, and also indulge in a bunch of water sports. Of course, there’s a selection of cafés and restaurants to keep you fuelled and going.

Al Rams Beach

Home to the famous Pink Lake of the UAE Soraya Island is tucked within the Al Rams area of Ras Al Khaimah.

Apart from the natural marvel, the 1.6 km long Al Rams Beach and Saraya Island is perfect for camping. The pristine water is shallow, calm, and perfect for kayaking and paddleboarding. However, you’ll need to drive a 4X4 onto the beach and island. It is definitely worth it.

Sidroh Beach

Close to its namesake luxury waterfront residential community, Sidroh Beach is that perfect spot you need to stop and stare into the sky. With Karak chai and snacks offered right by the beach, sunsets here are a front-row seat to nature’s spectacle.

Al Mairid Public Beach

Another public beach adjacent to a waterfront community, this is one of the most-visited Ras al Khaimah public beaches. Choose from plenty of cabanas along the shores to relax and sunbathe.

The beach is also close to the Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Resort & Spa and The Tower Links Golf Club - where you can find plenty of watersports and activities to indulge in.

Al Jeer Beach

There’s just something about white sandy beaches that will always hit different. Al Jeer is no different, perhaps one of the most serene Ras Al Khaimah beaches. Sharing a border with Oman, it’s perfect for wave-watching, especially during sunset.

Titanic Beach

This one’s extremely popular with the locals! Don’t be surprised if you see an RV or two along with major camping gear and equipment, parked at any time of the day. It keeps things exciting as ever on the Titanic Beach, and a memorable experience each time you visit.

Shaam Beach

The al-Sha’am area is located on the waterfront, overlooking the Arabian Gulf. One of the most famous fishing villages, the residents also have access to Shaam Beach. Surrounded by mountains, the beach boasts proximity to several renowned areas, including Al-Jeer and Wadi Al-Shaam.

Other noteworthy beaches include

North Ghalilah Beach, a unique beach with dark-colored gravel instead of sand. The beach is largely favoured by fishing enthusiasts.

Ghalilah Sea View is another underrated spot, with breathtaking views of the Ghalilah mountains.

Hulailah Beach is perfect for adventurous spirits, promising secluded bays and hidden coves.

What can we wear to Ras Al Khaimah beaches?

While there isn’t a strict dress code, like with most parts of the UAE, it’s best to respect traditions. When it comes to watersports like parasailing, snorkelling, etc, the instructors will advise you to wear comfortable swimwear.

Most tourists are able to dress to their liking. However, people in some parts of Ras Al Khaimah, especially the more beaches closer to more secluded areas, may be a little more conservative.

Like with the majestic Hajar mountains and plenty of cultural landmarks, Ras Al Khaimah also offers some of the most gorgeous public and private beaches in the UAE.

The northernmost emirate is certainly a gift that keeps on giving, offering an unparalleled blend of serene coastlines and vibrant beach activities. The beaches are extremely well-maintained and quite easily accessible by regular cars. You will also be able to find guides for some of the more secluded options.
